In a world where humans have surrendered dreaming for immortality, a creature still lost in fading reveries encounters a woman who grants him one final dream. As they journey together, his fragmented lives across a century resurface, blurring the boundaries between memory, identity, and illusion.
Cindy says
Bi Gan's dreamscape meditation on immortality and identity is visually intoxicating but glacially paced—a 159-minute fever dream that demands patience. The premise is gorgeous, the cinematography hypnotic, but even devoted fans of his maximalist style might find themselves nodding off before the final act.
