Two CIA agents are sent to Easter Island just before Chile's 1973 coup. As they navigate the island's mysteries and confront their troubled partnership, a romantic connection with local students complicates their mission and exposes dangerous conspiracies.
Cindy says
McDonagh brings his signature sharp dialogue and moral complexity to Cold War intrigue, anchored by Malkovich and Rockwell's crackling chemistry. The Easter Island setting adds delicious absurdity to this taut thriller about complicity and conscience, though it occasionally loses focus between its competing tones.
